Invermere Judo Club

The Invermere Judo Club has been in operation since the late 1960's under the direction of the Head Instructor (Sensei), Hermann Mauthner. It is a non-profit club which is run entirely through the volunteer efforts of the coaches, parents and community members. The club is a member of Judo BC and Judo Canada.

The club offers recreational and competitive judo for all ages, skill levels and interests. Some judokas are interested in competing in provincial and national tournaments while others are interested solely in the benefits of improved fitness and confidence achieved through judo.

New members are welcome to start any time during the year.

Location

The club holds classes in the Debbie Seel Centre - the old fire hall across from the Peppi's Pizza in downtown Invermere.

Age Groups

We go by year born - not "age." The youngest age group we accept is for those born in 2003.

Class Schedule 2009/10

Classes start September 14 and continue through to the end of April/early May.

Girls and boys born 2001, 2002 and 2003
Experienced judokas born in 2001 may be recommended to join the advanced youth group

Mondays 6:00 – 7:00 or
Thursdays 6:00 - 7:00

Youth and adults born 2000 and before

Mondays 7:00 – 8:30 and
Thursdays 7:00 – 8:30

Youth and adults can attend both the Monday and Thursday sessions or just one. No commitment is necessary.
Classes are not held during school and statutory holidays. This does not apply to school pd days etc.
