Four seasons and counting. . .

The Columbia Valley Cycling Society is a group of passionate volunteers dedicated to the sport of cycling in the Columbia Valley, British Columbia. The CVCS is the only organized community of cyclists in the area and its work is dedicated toward advocating and advancing the cause of local cyclists.

If you love the world-class trails in B.C.’s Columbia Valley, membership with the CVCS is for you.

This year, the CVCS will continue to organize several key club events established over the past number of years, as well as add some new tricks in ’09. Plans include: a community bike swap; regular trail work days (come pitch in!); club rides; a bike safety rodeo for kids; and others to be announced.

Over the past several years, the CVCS has built many key partnerships with individuals, land use agencies, and governments in the Columbia Valley. Working with the B.C. provincial government, the CVCS has successfully lobbied to have the popular MTB trails at Mt. Swansea and Lake Lillian recognized and protected into the future. Beginning this year, trail users will see professional-type signs and maps along those trails.

The CVCS is family friendly and encourages mom, dad, and the kids to get out and ride. Most events happen on the weekend, so the whole family can enjoy club activities. The society is a member club of the International Mountain Biking Association and takes the safe promotion of mountain biking seriously.

But most importantly, we’re about fun: All reasons why the CVCS is looking mighty fine in 2009.

Happy trails.
